International cooperation is carried out in order to integrate the educational services of the Academy of the Interior Ministry in the international educational space, to enable the acknowledgment of the brand of the Academy of the Interior Ministry, to enhance its competitiveness at the international market of research and educational services, to improve the competitiveness of graduates and the international recognition of diplomas and to facilitate the academic mobility of students and the teaching staff.


Cooperation with international organizations
and implementation of international projects


The Academy of the Interior Ministry implements international activities, works closely with a number of major international organizations, among them:

1. International Organization for Migration (IOM);
2. Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE);
3. United Nations Development Program (UNDP);
4. Children’s Fund (UNICEF);
5. Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation (SIDA);
6. Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR);
7. Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR);
8. UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC);
9. International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Many educational and other activities of an international character are carried out with the support of these organizations at the Academy of the Interior Ministry.
In 2007–2010, the Academy of the Interior Ministry was a national co-executor of a number of international technical assistance projects, including the following:

1. Combating human trafficking in the Republic of Belarus;
2. Strengthening the capacity of managing migration flows at the State Border of the Republic of Belarus;
3. Prevention, combating, and minimizing of the social consequences of Trafficking in Human Beings in the Republic of Belarus.

The following projects have been successfully completed «Enhancing the capacity of the Republic of Belarus in the field of migration management», «Promotion of a wider application of international standards of human rights in the administration of justice in Belarus», «Belarusian, Ukrainian and Moldavian program to combat illegal trafficking and trafficking in drugs», «Strengthening the conditions for granting asylum in the Republic of Belarus».

During the project implementation, the Academy of the Interior Ministry receives the necessary equipment and funding to enhance research and teaching capacity and logistics. For its part, the Academy of the Interior Ministry provides professional development for public officials of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries, as well as creating awareness among the population of Belarus on the activities of international organizations and national authorities to address international issues and human rights protection.

Legal work

Currently, the Academy of the Interior Ministry established direct contractual relations in educational and scientific sphere with more than 33 specialized high schools of law enforcement profile of Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia.

Academic mobility

In an effort to implement the basic provisions of the Bologna process (academic mobility) the Academy of the Interior Ministry organizes the participation of the teaching staff and students in international conferences, seminars, trainings, internships. More than 70 people annually go abroad in order to exchange experiences in these activities, as well as to internships and researches.

Several lecturers of the Academy of the Interior Ministry serve as experts at major international forums, participate in international scientific developments.

Training of foreign citizens

In accordance with the contract of 13.08.2001 № 21/10/2RB cadets of the Academy of the Interior Ministry are sent to study at universities of the Interior Ministry of Russia: Moscow State University, Volgograd Academy, Voronezh Institute. In turn, the Academy of the Interior Ministry provides training for Russian students.

Successfully integrating the educational services in the global educational environment the Academy of the Interior Ministry organizes and conducts training of servicemen of the CIS member-states, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on refresher courses and courses of special purpose.

In accordance with international standards and to enrich the educational process the Academy of the Interior Ministry invites international experts and specialists. Every year highly skilled foreign specialists are involved in various training programs coming from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, as well as experts of the International Organization for Migration, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Interpol, etc.
