The Academy of the Interior Ministry has gained a high status in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

In May 2008 the Council of Heads of Governments of the Commonwealth of Independent States approved the decision on granting the status of the core organization for the CIS member-states for training, advanced training and retraining of personnel in the field of migration and combating human trafficking to the Academy of the Interior Ministry.

On November 25th , 2009 members of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member-states, management and staff of the CIS Executive Committee attended the Academy of the Interior Ministry in order to confirm this status.

The priority task of the Academy of the Interior Ministry in promotion of international cooperation is the entry of the educational establishment to the following European unions:

1. Association of European Police Colleges (AEPS);
2. Police Academy of Central European Countries (MEPA);
3. European Senior Police Officers Course (ESPOC);
4. European Police College (CEPOL).

In addition, the export of educational services is growing. Much is being done to attract funding, including international assistance and international projects. The educational process and the quality of training are improving by making use of the international experience.

The Academy aims to actively cooperate with educational institutions and scientific organizations of foreign countries in different research fields on the basis of mutual interest. The interaction in the sphere of preparation of joint educational and methodical publications is also promising.
