The chair was created in 1992 and was called the chair of constitutional and administrative law. After a series of reorganizations the chair received its current name on May, 28th 2001.

Subjects taught at the chair:
  • European law;
  • Constitutional law;
  • Constitutional law of foreign countries;
  • International public law;
  • International private law;
  • Human rights law.
The chair cooperates with the UN bodies in the Republic of Belarus (UNHCR) and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Workshops devoted to human rights and international humanitarian law for lecturers and post graduate students have been held in the framework of this cooperation.

Main areas of scientific research:

  1. Constitutional and legal foundations of the activities of law-enforcement agencies of the Republic of Belarus;
  2. Immunity in the constitutional law of the Republic of Belarus.
