History of the chair

1958 – creation of the subject and methodical commission on social and economic disciplines at the Minsk branch of the extra-mural faculty of the Higher school of the Interior Ministry of the USSR, later on – chair of Marxism and Leninism;
1975 – creation of the chair of philosophy and scientific communism at the Minsk faculty of the Higher school of the Interior Ministry of the USSR;
1976-1990 – Chair of the Marx and Lenin philosophy and scientific communism at the Minsk Higher school of the Interior Ministry of the USSR;
1990-1992 – Chair of philosophy and sociology at the Minsk Higher school of the Interior Ministry of the USSR;
1992-1996 – Chair of philosophy and economic theory of the Academy of militia of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus;
1996-2001 - Chair of philosophy and economic theory of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus;
2001-2008 - Chair of philosophy of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus;
Since June 2008 - Chair of philosophy and ideological work of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus.

12. National security (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);
13. Modern national culture (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);
14.  Organisation of ideological work in the organs of internal affairs (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);
15. Philosophy of politics (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);
16. Traditions and innovations in official duties (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);
17. Management of social conflicts (for the students of the faculty of advanced studies and re-training);

The chair provides scientific and methodical training of post-graduate students, applicants (since 1993) and undergraduate students (since 2010), It is also responsible for taking qualifying examinations for a PhD degree in philosophy and methodology of science.

A cadets’ scientific group functions productively at the chair. Its participants represent the Academy at the republican scientific contests and conferences and contests between higher educational establishments.

8. Belarusian philosophy in the context of the cultural and political history of the country;
9. Organisation and provision of branches of ideological work.
