The chair was created on December 9th , 1975 and was then named the chair of administrative law and scientific organization of management in internal affairs bodies. In June 1988 it was renamed into the chair of administrative law, in May 1992 into the chair of management and maintenance of law and order, in July 1994 into the chair of maintenance of law and order, in April 1996 into the chair of maintenance of law and order of the faculty of militia of public safety, in February 2000 into the chair of administrative law and administrative activities, in May 2001 into the chair of administrative activities of internal affairs bodies, in January 2003 into the chair of administrative activities and management of internal affairs bodies.

Over the years of its existence the lecturers of the chair have given the basics of the necessary professionally important knowledge and skills of law-enforcement activities to thousands of law-enforcement officers. Hundreds of various training manuals, programs and recommendations have been prepared, dozens of scientific research jobs have been carried out the results of which have been successfully implemented into law-enforcement activities of internal affairs bodies.

Subjects taught at the chair:
  1. Administrative activities of internal affairs bodies;
  2. Administrative law;
  3. Initial professional training;
  4. Internal affairs bodies and implementation of the institute of citizenship and migration (special course);
  5. Basics of law and order maintenance;
  6. Management of internal affairs bodies.

Main areas of scientific research:

Research activities are carried out by A.Leonov, the professor of the chair, PhD in philosophy and the chief editor of the Russian – Belarusian magazine «Management of information protection», PhD in law A. Sukharkova, PhD A.Postnikova, etc.

The following thesis work is carried out at the chair:

  1. Administrative and legal instruments of dealing with violations of law in the field of family matters (lecturer of the chair I.Fedchuk);
  2. Administrative and legal status of the bodies of preliminary investigations (lecturer of the chair A. Tarikhov);
  3. Administrative and legal regulation of external labour migration in the Republic of Belarus (lecturer of the chair V.Rusak);
  4. Methodological support of the initial stage of investigation of thefts committed at rail transport facilities. (lecturer of the chair O.Levshuk).
