The faculty now and before
The faculty of law is a structural subdivision of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus. It was created on September 1st , 2001 by the order of the Head of the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic.

The training of lawyers with a university degree is fully commercial and is carried out in the qualification “Legal science”, specialization “Judicial, procuratorial and investigative activities”.

600 law and order advocates have received a degree of full time higher education at the faculty. More than 400 graduates have become law enforcement officers. Many graduates work at the Prosecutor’s office, courts, customs authorities, financial investigation units and at the Academy of the Interior Ministry.

After completing 1 or 2 years of study 47 students were transferred to the budget-funded faculties of the Academy. 3 students were transferred to the budget-funded faculties without any examinations for their performance in the training process and extracurricular activities to take the places of expelled cadets.

Since 2011 students are admitted to extra mural studies. Persons possessing a degree of (special) secondary education are enrolled to the first year of studies and are trained for 6 years. Persons in possession of a degree of higher education are enrolled to the third year and study for 4 years.

Among the students of the faculty of law there are 130 law-enforcement officers, the rest are civilian students. Female students amount to 23 % of the students, 40 % did not serve in the army.

Matriculation
In 2012 the entrance to the faculty of law is organized to extra mural studies of higher education in accordance with the Matriculation procedure to the educational institution «Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Belarus» (Chapter III)
The fee is 496 US dollars. Payment is to be done in Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate of the National bank twice a year before the examination period.
